Neighbours~ VM in windows

West Quay, Southampton
18/1/2011

on the other hand, 远看花里胡哨的,也算是‘吸引’了,远观隔壁的ZARA(开头两张图片), 想到的是:“还在打折啊”;望见Accessorize的橱窗,心中念道:“介都是嘛啊!?”
Accessorize's window: There is no sequence of priorityhierarchy, and no hierarchy between colours of product and colours of decoration either. Detail looks exquisite-beautiful print/paper-cuts of flowers, butterflies& hearts... Nevertheless, the overall look is in disorder somehow. Anyway, the atmosphere is clear enough, which shows the spring's coming...(which I hope I'm right about at least -.-!)

Iceland's AD on the truck

BECAUSE MUMS ARE HEROES!-nice perspective

What Iceland sells are bunch of frozen food which is opposite to 'fresh food'. What Iceland serves is convenience. Some say they will not and never buy frozen food for their children. Who say such words must have time and money for sure.

But Iceland serves their consumers REASONS TO BUY according this AD. BECAUSE MUMS ARE HEROES, Iceland gives consumers SOMETHING TO BACK UP. It weakens the 'health/freshness problem' by emphasis on emotion rather than argue in defence of the brand itself. As a result, it seems that Iceland is on the side of its consumers, which is a good way to bridge the gap between the brand and consumers.

Are they apples?

From Republic(southampton/ West Quay):
The grey words on the round tag say 'Buy One Get One FREE'. Usually see this kind of promotion strategy in Tesco.  Is it really a good for promotion of clothing?  As a consumer, what I though was 'for what I need to buy two items only in different colours? they're not apples or yogurt...so that I can get more value from them.'

The flaw of this strategy is that it only considers what the retailer gives not what consumers can get. It seems Republic urges to sell them.  If so, consumers would not like it even more due to the less and less value, especially its current consumers. Because they are those who keep expecting more from Republic. BTW, even though it is GBP24.99 for two pieces(originally for one piece) & I've never bought from Republic, I would not buy.

After about one month, there are still piles of such items in-store. Really not sure that how effective  this promotion is. I have lost interest for those items for sure, even I tried them before. It might work on me if they sell it 50% off , or 20~30% off which I may accept as well.

I hope that I could learn how to cherish...everything....
さあ、練習を始まりましょ。。。(don't know if the way I write is right or not...whatever)
